UCF best b-ball season ever was last year by almost making it to the sweet 16 by one bucket against Duke. However, only one returning starter from last year's team and no Tacko Fall. Thus, i'm hoping we stay respectable and Coach Johnny Dawkins will have to pull off a miracle to make it back to the tourny.

#4 Duke just beat #3 Kansas 68-66. Duke won on defense.

#1 Mich-State vs #2 Kentucky on now (Tuesday night 9pm). ESPN

Miami subbed in 3 true freshman in the first half and went on a 14-2 run with them. Larranaga subbed back in the starters and down goes Frazier!!! Alot of upside to my Hurricanes this year. They put up 70 against #5 Louisville.. Ill take it

Florida vs North Florida. Interesting new team. They have a 6'8" 300 lb freshman that can shoot and play defense. Rated 6th? Damn. I'm pleased. It's a good time to remind myself that every year I imagine UF in the final four and playing like a team, unselfishly with emerging stars to remain instead of making NBA money. I get all nostalgic for the back to back championships and the players and I see all the clues and signs that it's going to happen again. This is UF's year. I can only have this kind of optimism this month and I am beating back all the familiar songs of realism and pessimism. For now. After game one, it's totally UF number one. The march to March starts.

UCF wins their first game against Praire View 73-69. it was a good game. UCF looks pretty good. Basically only two players from last year's teams. A lot of new faces. Praire View was pretty good. They stayed in the game by 3 pointers.

Once again, FSU embarrasses UF at UF. This game is always a mystery to me. UF was rated 6th and FSU is not and probably will not be ranked. But they beat the gators without mercy and the gators seemed like the game started with them 20 points down. I don't get it.

I didn't see the game but was very surprised at the score. Checked the box score and it looked like Fla couldn't hit water from the boat in that game! Shot something like 28%!!

The Gators are a solid basketball team and the addition of grad transfer Kerry Blackshear was a VERY nice landing. They will be just fine by March and you should expect a deep run into the NCAA Tourny.

FSU seems to consistently field a good team. Being in the ACC they are sometime's overlooked. So many other consistently good teams as well. Gators are always up and down.

Fun fact, Gators Head Coach is brother of UCF AD. Their father is AD at Duke. Other brother AD at FAU. The White's of College Sports!

I guess I'm a football fan again.

Jboy ..... it could be worse. UK just lost to those vaunted Purple Aces of Evansville !! Eville outplayed the Cats the entire game and deserved to win.

BTY, they are coached by a former UK player, Walter McCarty who was an important part of a UK NCAA Championship in the mid 90's

Evansville??? Who?

Evansville wow! This Miami UCF game is a good one. Ingram looks solid for Ucf. Miami has talented freshman but the juniors seniors are not the best haha Our big men are atrocious.

UCF isn't ready for prime time. Team needs to gel. 15 turnovers. Miami played with so much more energy and shot well.

Everyone gets an Evansville at some point in their season. They were a 25 point underdog. Still, that's got to be something the Evansville teal will remember for life. But it ain't march just yet and that's when the underdogs run with the big dogs for all the marbles.

Although UCF isn't going to get into post season play they did just knock off 1st place Cincinnati in double OT!

A no-name freshman, with a broken nose, scored over 20 points. How UCF won that is beyond me. UCF was a big underdog in this one. Super shorthanded. 2 starters out and only 6 players played. Not a pretty game. Cinci played crappy also.
