If the government was about reducing carbon they would make a big push for nuclear. They are not. They are about controlling you and taking your money on the false premise that they can control the climate.

Power in the US is private. The power companies make their own decisions. Yes, I know the Right blames government for ditching coal, but like most things, they are wrong once again. The producers switched to natural gas because it was cheaper.

And if you say regulation is the reason, I will reply, "Do you want more toxic pollution from coal fire plants? Do you want Mercury in your fish? Do you crave a shorter lifespan?"
