It seems that the 'authorities' are slow-rolling the situation with a firm "we are monitoring the situation". And, you kinda have to 'feel' for them because, , , , the current 'red zone' covers around 3 million people (the whole Naples area has around 6 million)!!! Nobody has the balls to order an evacuation??!!
Top volcanologist are calling BS, saying that they are almost certain that it's going to blow. The ground at Campi rose 1 centimeter in a day this past week; a rise of 1 centimeter in a month would normally be 'very concerning'? What would have happened if Seattle was built around Mount St. Helens? The last time Campi really 'blew' long-ago it blasted material up to 45 kilometers away, and the pyroclastic 'kill zone' was 13 to 15 kilometers!! Remember that little Pompeii thingy? ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

Now, 'high concentrations' of CO2 are being measured in basements and lower floors of buildings! CO2 detectors are being declared 'mandatory', and 'below ground' living spaces are to be closed. Schools in certain areas are being closed.
Many 'old' building do not have 'adequate' ventilation so, , , , ,. ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

BREAKING: Major Risks Commission meets to review the ALERT LEVEL of the Campi Flegrei Volcano !!!!!!
This has gone from a 'situation normal, it's Tectonic' to almost, , , , , "get ready to run". While the scientist on the 'it's volcanic' side got down, down, played all along. But now, all the 'experts' pretty much agree that this is 'volcanic'. This 'meeting' could raise the alert level to 'Orange', which the experts seem to want but, , , , 'Orange' would force the evacuation of '100s' of thousands of people, up to 3 million. ??!! ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

The Italian government is 'playing' with the numbers. The 'experts' are telling them to raise the alert to 'Orange' but, that would mean evacuations of up to 700,000!!
So, the authorities are trying to come up with an 'in between' between 'Yellow' and 'Ornge' that would not require evacuations. LOL! So okay, let's pretend that there is a Florida law that says that a CAT3 and above will have mandatory evacuations. Okay. But, let's say that Dade County wants a 'new' Category of 2.5 so they have more 'leeway'! LOL! ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

There was a 4.4 quake last night. The ground is rising at a rate of 3 centimeters a month. Gas concentrations are rising.
It still sounds like the experts are saying to evacuate the Red Zone but, the 'authorities' are still 'monitoring'. So, who would want to evacuate 500,000 people, and not be able to give them any idea about when they would be able to return? This is a super volcano. Even a small 'burp' could be Mount St Helens size. Could be 'Biblical'! ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

There was a large series of earthquakes in the early 80s and then it went quiet for several decades.

Just had a 4.6 at sea in the caldera. Largest recorded in the area.
Starting to look bad. The Italian government has it's balls clamped down tight. How can they tell 300,000 people to 'evacuate' then say "and don't come back"??!! ------------------------- Dora Hates You Edited: 07/01/2025 at 04:42 AM by dingpatch |
