Class. Probably doesn't fit in the MAGA narrative about "loony radical libtards" though ![]() If it were reversed, what names and insults and divisiveness would Trump have thrown around in ALL CAPS AND EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!! ON TRUTH SOCIAL? Jimmy Kimmel Reacts To Charlie Kirk's Shooting Death: "Instead Of Angry Finger-Pointing, Can We Just For One Day Agree That It Is Horrible And Monstrous To Shoot Another Human?" "Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?" Kimmel wrote on Instagram. "On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence." ------------------------- ![]() We have certain things in common Jeffrey.. I agree. I would have loved to debate the guy. He was an asshole and wrong on most everything he said, but killing him is above and beyond.
He spoke to a chunk of our population who believe women are second class citizens, as are people of color, and that certain parts of the Constitution should be held in high regard while other parts are ignored. As it turns out, firebranding is a dangerous business in our violent country. ------------------------- I was right. Edited: 09/11/2025 at 05:29 AM by Cole |

Seems Operation Miller has the base thirsty for blood. Next move will be to try and pin the shooting on a trans person because you know, most trans people can make a 500 yard single bullet kill shot. that would be like what, 0.000000000001% of the population? ------------------------- ![]() We have certain things in common Jeffrey.. |

Kirk actually even believed that some of what he said was true. The Truth may set you free, but its the lies that paid Charlie's bills.

And Trump's simp in the FCC threatened ABC and said they could do it it easy way or the hard way....and now Kimmel is out.

Trump and Co are going to generate a massive backlash. They can cheat at the polls and cheat with illegal gerrymandering, but it won't matter. Maga is over in 2026.

FAU terminated a professor yesterday for posting comments in response to Kirk posts on her personal time and personal instagram account.
What Jimmy Kimmel said about Charlie Kirk "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was, uh, grieving on Friday ? the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this. Yes, he's at the fourth stage of grief: construction. Demolition, construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend; this is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK? And it didn't just happen once. And then we installed the most beautiful chandelier. Responses you wouldn't believe. Who thinks like that, and why are we building a $200 million chandlier in the White House? Is it possible that he's doing it intentionally so he can be bad about that instead of the (Jeffrey) Epstein list? ..." |

But a social media platform banning accounts for repeatedly posting misinformation that ultimately incited a violent mob to attack the nation's capital and attempt to overturn an election was the worst thing to ever happen to "free speech."

Nah, these guys aren't like the Third Reich at all-- you know, using government overreach and weaponization to ban artists that merely hurt your snowflakey fweelings (with average at best jokes) is totally normal and commonplace. I don't see the parallels at all HAHAHA Where's Hoaxmeister Pabs to make his usual out-of-touch delusional commentary on this? Back to the coop again? ------------------------- ![]() We have certain things in common Jeffrey.. Edited: 09/18/2025 at 06:01 PM by fishkller |

Getting control of the media is the first step. Well, electing a convicted man who says he will be a dictator is the first step, but the second step is even more dangerous to a free republic.

It is all about Project 2025, baby.
Brendan Carr, chair of the FCC, literally wrote the chapter in the Project 2025 playbook. Project 2025 Playbook Ban TikTok: Carr has called for a ban on the social media app TikTok, citing its risks to U.S. national security. Enforce "public interest" obligations: Carr seeks to more stringently enforce the "public interest" obligations of broadcasters with FCC licenses. He has opened investigations into major media companies, including Disney and NBC. Defund public broadcasting: While not in his specific chapter, other parts of Project 2025 call for defunding public broadcasting, with which Carr has shown agreement. Interesting that he abandoned banning TicTok...hmmmmm...maybe because his orange boss wants to get his grifting fingers in that pie? ------------------------- If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC - KV Edited: 09/19/2025 at 05:06 AM by Bamboo |

Seems Carr opened himself to a 1st Amendment lawsuit here by threatening to revoke ABC's license because of a comedian's political commentary. Regardless, shameful trampling of the Constitution and Trump justifying it is a high crime
Trump actually said this, as president of the USA: "I read someplace that the networks were 97 percent against me. Again, 97 percent negative, and yet I won and easily won all seven swing states. The popular vote, won everything," Trump told reporters. "They're 97 percent against; they give me only bad press. I mean, they're getting a license," he continued. "I would think maybe their license should be taken away." Trump said that decision would ultimately be left up to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr, whom Trump praised as a "patriot" and a "tough guy." Well, no we all know exactly who got Stephen Colbert fired. Yeah, "patriots" Edited: 09/19/2025 at 05:43 AM by 3rdworldlover |

So much for the "liberal media". Turns out American capitalist media will do anything that makes money for their investors, morality be damned.

>>Jawboning refers to "the use of official speech to inappropriately compel private action," as defined by the Cato Institute, as governments or public officials - who cannot directly punish private actors for speech they don't like - can use strongman tactics to try and indirectly silence critics or influence private companies' actions.
The practice is fairly loosely defined and there aren't many legal safeguards dictating how violations of it are enforced, the Knight First Amendment Institute notes, but the Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled it can be unlawful and an impermissible First Amendment violation when it involves specific threats.<< ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power."
