Booked for red frogs hostel, anyone stayed there before? Looks really rad. I have a full day in Panama City also, was going to check out the canal and maybe some museums, anyone ever cruised around Panama City?

Didn't want to start a brand new thread - but I'm going to BDT next week for 8 days (stoked) and wondering what is the best forecast tool for that area? It looks like the swell is fading right when we get there, but we're still stoked. Will a 3-4ft lower period swell still provide fun waves at the beach breaks around red frog?

Hah this brought back some good memories, was an adventure I'll never forget, traveling solo somewhere new is something everyone should do at least once. I never surfed on Bastimentos, but 3-4 is plenty for bluff the big beachie on the main island. Check out @lucasrogerpbh on Instagram, he's a va/obx guy that's got the wave wired. Ended up staying at a hostel called Skully's for most of my trip, it's a cool little bar/restaurant on the water run by some crazy dude with a peg leg from California. Close to surf spots on the main island too. Some really incredible waves out there, I felt like I was in indo sometimes plenty of top to bottom heavy barrels when the swell is pushing. If you're staying at red frog I think they can take you to bluff via boat though. If you make it into town, get the chicken that they're making on the grill outside of Tony's market, best chicken I've had in my life hands down. Spending 6 weeks out there next year can't wait.
