The newest radars can detect ice from rain at street levels, not sure what 5g would do to views from satellite, and source but why would it affect true beam from radar?

NWS can't even get GFS updated.
GFS predicted that the low that became Dorian would quickly move west and cross the peninsula as a wave/depression or weak TC on Saturday August 31. GFS model predicted that the low that is now Humberto would move quickly west and cross Florida Friday Night/Saturday AM and perhaps develop in the gulf. Humberto is now a full TC sitting in the Atlantic. UKMET predicted Dorian and Humberto well in advance.

Radar gets jammed by noise if something is broadcasting toward the radar on the frequency that the radar is scanning. FM and cell towers show up on NEXRAD if they are in the line of site and the computer doesn't filter out the noise.
