There's something FAR more important in what was said on the tape.
When McCarthy was describing the conversation that he was going to have with then-president Trump, he goes on about just wanting "to talk to Trump about him resigning." He didn't want to "get into Pence pardoning him." ...?? For what?? That's the question that needs to be asked. Why would he believe that the subject of Pence pardoning Trump would come up? What did he think Trump did? Incite an insurrection? Obstruct Congressional proceedings? Engage in a conspiracy to obstruct Congress? That seems FAR more important than everything else, coming from the TOP Republican in the House, who is aiming to be the next Speaker of the House. But he really wanted to get Trump to step down/resign, and make sure that Pence wouldn't give a pardon to Trump for... what recently happened. ------------------------- GOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project |
