The differences are the time after the election to receive the ballots because of the FK'ed up USPS that Trump and his postmaster general stooge staged so he can bitch about the results after the election.
It was a strategic set-up and the courts are trying to off-set the effect of the sabotage to our Postal System by Trump.
I never thought I'd live to see the day when our own President works to sabotage our election system. Very unAmerican.
This. Mail-in ballots have always been able to be counted after election day as long as they meet the post-mark deadline. This sought extension is to allow for the postal service being overwhelmed both by design and unusually high volume. This applies to military personnel from overseas, we want them counted yeah? Remember in 2000 when Florida was fussing with chads it was also waiting for military ballots from afar.
