His lawyer was most likely given a courtesy heads up that the indictment for Tuesday. That's a common courtesy given to defendants who do not pose a flight risk. The lawyer told trump and trump sees his walls closing in. His go to is to inflame the fanboys and incite his version of the purge. He would rather die than go to jail. He's a loser. He's being squeezed out and the establishment can't quite come to terms with the reality that he still polls higher than the trump lights they can collar. He will not give up and the party's pleas to make him are comically ignorant. They will tell trump that he must step down to save the party. Trump will laugh at them and remind them that he is the party. Then trump and the party will go down in flames.

If they had something then it would be taken seriously. This is another made up charge that probably exceeded any statute of limitations and they definitely exceeded their authority with these concocted charges. The feds, who have the authority, took a pass years ago.
