14 ft tiger shark caught and released at spanish house this morning. I saw the same guys catch this same shark on the 4th of july. Is it the upwelling thats keeping the tiger around cause the water is cold as hell at spanny. And are why people shark fishing at a beach packed with surfers and swimmers?

Last time they caught one in Millenium Park there was a lot of exposure and pics as well, since Tigers are kind of a big deal, so if the pics dont surface...a lame attempt at crowd control it is...either way, spanny will be crowded all weekend cuz i dont think anyone gives a shit.

A small fry compared to those I see at pet den. Any given paddle out, you'll bump into 4 or 5 larger than that.

That would be a world record according to the IGFA. All previous record tigers came from Australia. I call BS! Nice attempt at regulating the crowds at "your" break for this Bertha swell.

About a mile north of Sebastion. Best part is that it's free entrance and the cool "nature trail" to get to the beach.

I'm sure... I'm sure there are 4 to 5 - 15ft Tiger Sharks at pet den, pretty much all day... yea... I bet.   (I hope you understand that the average car is about 14 feet long)

...as far as what Long Beard is saying. I believe it. He is a good guy. I don't see him making this up. Just think... with the inlet right there... there is plenty of food for that big guy.

About 5 or 6 years ago I saw a 14ft+ tiger shark swimming on the outside at whitey's bait shop toward the inlet. It was retarded big!!!! So they're out there for sure.

I wonder how they were able to reel that in? Must have taken hours.

I dont believe it unless the pics come out somewhere...but obviously there are monsters in that area, my buddy saw one on board his boat less than a mile off shore directly behind the inlet..i think if you catch a 14 footer..he is old, he has lived a good life...kill that fucker cuz he is a man eater, i am all for preservation of sharks but in that situtation just kill that thing..before it eats your kid.

I was at long point eating breakfast this morning and overheard two groms talking about the huge fin they saw cruising the line up just south of the long point trail.I asked them if it was the tiger, neither knew but they both said it had to have been close to a 20 ft shark.(typical grom exageration) but im guessing that it was our friend the tiger shark.

No thanks but since you chose to critique, none of the words are misspelled. I did type the wrong word by mistake. I guess I was in a hurry to get back in the water. By the way, I surfed all day, did you? Oh yes, you surfed the internet. Have fun at your desk again tomorrow. I will be surfing.

John, I must have seen it after the fact also. I didn't move to IHB until 1975 and I know I wouldn't have remembered this from when I was 4 (in 1974). Cool shot..

Last spring at Bice I saw the biggest fin I've ever seen outside a movie theater. Couldn't tell if it was a manta ray wing or sharkie dorsal. But the dark spot under the water was so large and distorted it was surreal -- I wasn't even sure what I was watching.

Guys were walking on water to get out of there. Wetsuit defecation was in full effect.

It was the Boss of Bice. Spooky. Spoooooooky I tell you!
