I've never caught Jaco not closing out. Depends on time of year and swell direction, but there are plenty of options. If Boca Barranca is clean, that can be a nice, fun glide. They've held international longboard contests there, but if it's clean, it might also be more crowded than you want to deal with, unless you're an early riser.

There was a thread on here a few years ago that named a place I can't remember... If I find the thread, I'll link it here, 'cause that's about my speed right now as well. I'm thinking it was in the Nosara area.

There's also Ollie's Point, if you're up for the adventure. I've never been there, but seen vids of some amazing, fun-size, longboardable surf.

If (when!) GREG chimes in, he can point you in multiple good directions. He's a great guide, and found me some nice little off-the-radar coves near Dominical that were fun and wind-protected.
