Well, it's that time of year again for us. This year we were to be "depopulated" from Citizens to Mangrove (who?) for a $$ savings. Instead, Mangrove evaporated and we've got Citizens again, with a 20% price hike. We're beachside, no options that I'm aware of. Grrrr. Anyone else finding any relief? This is ridiculous.

At this stage I don't even want to look. The same for medical insurance.

Years ago, my internist had sold the family house, expecting to upgrade to something nicer. At the time, prices were exploding and a nicer house was unaffordable. Fled to Idaho (was a ski freak).

My house in Suntree had a 'too old' roof when I sold it 2 years ago. My policy was just over $1,200 a month

I've had good luck and good prices with Homeowner's Choice for about 10 years beachside. I think they're out of the Tampa area, so they probably had some exposure during last year's storms, meaning I have no idea what their future holds, but maybe worth a call. I think Robinson Insurance in Indialantic hooked us up with them back when we first signed up.

We've also been with HC for a while (14-ish years) and they have been great for us. Had our roof replaced with a metal one after one of the Hurricanes. Reps were out quickly after the storm. Very receptive, and easy to get a human on the phone. Also located beachside.
