Lot of press lately about the exodus of people from prog states. Can't blame them, but a good number of the refugees are coming to Florida. It has gotten noticably more crowded here in the last few years. With more people comes more pollution, etc. You progs need to encourage the country's shit hole states to start voting Republican if you want to save your way of life here.

If Trump would help poor Puerto Rico. Those poor people are taking a beating.

Lots of press. I got a kick out of that one too. I wonder if Tfish remembers that he has started several of theses threads already?

Yep, lots of press. About a story a day that I've seen since the latest census figures came out. But it is obvious that you guys aren't the sorts to keep up on current events. Hence my head's up. If you want to preserve what's left, best have a talking to your prog buddies in shit hole states.

California has 20% of the population and is the fifth largest economy in the world. That sound bad to you?

It's happening again. People who should know better are pointing to California's current budget surplus as proof that the state, the world's fifth largest economy, is in sound financial shape. That figure is also being used to support the claim that California's relatively high tax burden and onerous regulations are not too problematic, as CNBC's Robert Frank did on Squawk Box the morning after Tax Day.
The surplus figure cited by Frank and others has two problems: it's both misleading and paints an incomplete picture of the Golden State's finances. The truth is that there is no revenue surplus had by California state government. In fact, the state's long-run obligations far exceed projected revenue collections to the tune of $1 trillion in unfunded pension liabilities alone. When factoring in the cost of non-pension benefits for state workers, such as health care for retired government employees, the debt facing California taxpayers rises further.
"Combining California's debt with publicly held federal debt, we estimate a total debt-to-GDP ratio of 125% (or 153% using the broader definition of federal debt)," California Policy Center report released in 2017 points out. "This level places California distressingly close to peripheral Eurozone countries that faced financial crises in 2011 and 2012. Portugal's 2015 debt-to-GDP ratio was 129% and Italy's was 133%."
Bill Fletcher and Marc Joffe, authors of the California Policy Center report, breakdown how much of this debt each Californian is on the hook for and find a burden of "$33,000 per resident and $74,000 per taxpayer - excluding their share of federal debt." (Forbes)

People are fleeing from there, NY, NJ, IL and other shit hole states and are coming here. Do millions of more people spewing more pollution and consuming more resources sound bad to you? To answer your question, yes, California sounds bad to me. And it is bad for most of the people living there, which is why they want to leave.

You guys complaint about CA like jilted lovers. Like we told you before, you just can't afford it, sorry. You'll have to stay here where it's cheap. Of course more people are pulling in every day, so if you want to get ahead of the game you could plan to relocate to a true conservative paradise like South Dakota or Alabama. You'll love it there.

tspank as clueless as it gets. They aren't "fleeing" because those states are $hitholes they are leaving because they are deadbeats, or tax evaders.

tspank, "Do millions of more people spewing more pollution and consuming more resources sound bad to you?" Answer: Yes, yet isn't that what tspank is bragging about? The movement of millions of people from richer states to poor states that have no means of or intentions to save their environment, educate their people, provide for additional resources (roads, commodes, child services, healthcare)?

Sounds like the blue states are doing pretty good yes?

Of the 10 states that show up most frequently at the bottom of the list since 2006, nine are solid blue states. Of the 10 states with consistently the best record, all but one are solidly red states.
There's another commonality between the best-run and worst-run states. Taxes.
As it turns out, states in the worst fiscal shape also tend to impose the highest tax rates in the nation. In fact, six of the 10 states that consistently show up as the least fiscally solvent rank in the Top 10 for highest taxes as a share of income, according to the Tax Foundation.
Of the 10 most fiscally sound states, all but one impose below-average tax burdens on their residents.(Investors business daily)

No, they sound like miserable places. That's why people are fleeing, as opposed to flooding in. Best tell your fellow travelers in blue states to start voting GOP.

Not trying to convince anyone that it's a bad place. That's a given. People living there are leaving. I'm trying to convince people that they should tell anyone they know there to vote Republican so they will stop coming here and ruining the place.

Anti environment, pootie loving chumpfdirts abandon their flailing swampy idiot villages for here.
Then act like they own the place.

Cut taxes too low so you have to make up the loss in state income by cramming as many people in as possible to get their rising property taxes?

Yep, it's the Republican way.

Don't worry FL, us property owners will pay for everything. You are welcome Disney and Walmart and Roofing contractors and all other low paying employers. We will subsidize the low wages.

You know what's great? Real estate prices continue to go up so all those new Floridian job seekers can pay rent instead of owning! Bring us your tax evaders and your poor! Welcome to FL. Hope you don't mind the stench from our degrading environment!!

On a bright note, waves...

Wonder why that might be. Why, I bet that it because we have so many retirees and tourists here. That, in turn, creates a lot of service industry jobs, such as waiters, room cleaners and such. Those guys generally to not pull in 6 figures and will bring the per capita GDP down. There - I chewed on it.

Tpap I am still waiting for you to divest form all those companies based in San Francisco, Seattle, etc Blue shit holes. Just 4 companies based in those shitholes, employing armies of people educated in liberal shithole Universities, accounted for what like 20-25% of SP500 stock market gains last year?

Yeah and "those guys" with the service industry jobs will have trouble affording housing and basic needs and then FL will do their darndest to help them right?

All the #hit that tspank talks about homelessness is coming home to papa:

From: Article citing recent Freddie Mac study

The median renter income in the Orlando metro area, for example, is $36,000. But the median rent is $1,040. Assuming 30 percent of income is going to rent, people in Orlando would have to earn $41,600 just to afford an apartment and still be rent-burdened, according to the report.

Like so many other things in Florida, the report essentially concludes that it comes down to the state's plethora of low-paying jobs. The Sunshine State's current minimum wage is $8.46, a whole 21 cents more than last year, which translates to a demoralizing $17,597 annual salary for full-time minimum-wage workers.

Florida basically survives by people making money elsewhere and driving it into the state. If you are young here you better get skills that cater to the fogies Healthcare, white collar etc because there is not much going on here otherwise besides serving them crappy fish sandwiches and ringing out their bealls purchase.

Florida is well on it's way to catching up to California on inequality and homelessness it sounds like. We've got the recipe, just have to let it stew...

"Smells like capitalism." Indeed. That's what the dimwit GOP geezers don't get. Blue states largely better at capitalism consequently got to the problems caused by it quicker.

Yeah, Florida is a pretty bleak place anymore. Bunch of starving people living on the sides of roads, pretty much. Say, why don't you guys move? I hear that California is a great place for folks like you. Or, better yet, Venezuela or Cuba.

tspank wants the poor to come to FL for some reason. But why? More human suffering? So he can feel better than someone? So he can lecture them like geezers are wont to do!

Silver alert! tspank's mind or what was left of it. Last seen at a MAGA rally fawning over a fat a$$ lying reality show idiot.

Looks like someone put the ignorant in ignore. "In my day?" Too cliche? I guess one of the fine young nazis on the other side of the argument finally got around to making a meme about it. Today in so called conservative circles, that could pass for a book. "McCarthyism for dummies." The RNC could buy 100k copies and put it next to Donnie Jr's masterpiece about how his ignorance offends people he doesn't like. Good stuff.

Shit hole states like California, Florida, New Jersey and New York. That's funny. Tpap it's time to put your words to actions and go live in the tax free cultural Mecca of Louisiana,
Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, West Virginia etc. Why should you, a childless old man have to pay taxes for the public education of some other persons' trailer park spawn? What's in any of those taxes for you, a wealth creator? Why would give poor people free food when their hunger is the best motivator to work at a job that will pay them so little, with no benefits and even less chance for advancement? It's not the wage we need to increase, we need to decrease benefits to the point where even a bad job at minimum wage will force these free loading, Mountain Dew swilling, cracklin good inbreeds to drop out earlier and get that career at the dollar general. You should start a PAC that takes out billboards that say "only elites think education is for everyone." But not in the shit hole states. Those people know better.

I live in an income tax free state now. I am not the one complaining about it - you guys are. I am merely warning you people that these shit hole state denizens are coming here and will ruin whatever it is that keep you here. So, you should encourage those folks who are left in the shit hole states to vote Republican so that the tide may be staunched. I have 140 acres of farmland, so I can avoid the hordes. Can you?

Millions of people have moved out of New York City during the pandemic, but at the same time, millions of others with lower incomes have taken their place, according to a study released on Tuesday. All told, a net 70,000 people left the metropolitan region this year, resulting in roughly $34 billion in lost income, according to estimates from Unacast https://www.unacast.com/covid19/covid-19-migration-patterns-and-emerging-areas, a location analytics company. About 3.57 million people left New York City this year between Jan. 1 and Dec. 7, according to Unacast, which analyzed anonymized cell phone location data. Some 3.5 million people earning lower average incomes moved into the city during that same period, the report showed. "The exodus isn't as big as people have been talking about," said Thomas Walle, chief executive and co-founder of Unacast. "Maybe the greater impact is how the population is changing and how the demographics are changing." In Tribeca, a wealthy neighborhood in downtown Manhattan, residents who left this year earned an average income of about $140,000, Walle said. The typical person moving into the neighborhood earned an average $82,000, he said. The dual hit to population and income across the city can have lasting consequences for New York City as it recovers from the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, Walle said. "The big question is, 'How does real estate and retail in particular adapt to that?'" he said. Just one prog reduced NYC to a slum.

Let's hope. All prog cities in prog states should do away with cops. We, on the other hand should start offering our criminals an alternative. Three years in jail or a bus ticket to California? While a lot of people might choose the jail time, the dumber criminals (i.e., progs) will choose Ca. At least we would get rid of the dumb criminals.

Sorry, but another wrongz.

New York City seeing a resurgence.

You see, you lower rents to a reasonable level and hey, guess what? All the young, smart and capable move in and revitalize the place. Imagine that!

http://www.marketwatch.com/sto...manhattan-11607622627

'They tried the suburbs': Renters return to a more affordable Manhattan

Last Updated: Dec. 10, 2020 at 8:04 p.m. ET

'What clients are telling me is that they tried the suburbs and they missed the city. They say they miss being able to walk to a grocery store or coffee shop and not relying on a car.'

That's Janna Raskopf, a broker with Douglas Elliman, in a television interview Thursday about a new report showing leases in Manhattan spiked by 30% in November to 4,000 new signees from a year ago.

A record drop in rents as landlords scramble to fill vacancies left by the pandemic outflow drove the strongest November in 12 years, according to the findings from Miller Samuel and Douglas Elliman.

The median net-effective rent, or prices including concessions, dropped 22% last month, tying October's biggest drop on record. The median price for a rental is now down to $2,743, with most landlords offering more than two months free rent.
Miller Samuel

"Lower prices have created this this trigger for inbound migration," Miller Samuel CEO Jonathan Miller said. "That's one of the early signs of the market potentially improving."

Industry experts cited by CNBC, on which the Raskopf interview aired, say the rising number of new leases is being driven by Manhattan residents taking the opportunity to upgrade, former residents returning from the suburbs after fleeing during the pandemic and millennials who had moved in with their parents.

Another one gone. I, of course, have been predicitng this for some time. But even I am surprised how quickly it is falling apart in these shit holes. So they are all going under. The question now is where everyone will flee to when the progs convert the entire country to a shit hole.

Austin's liberal, but people moving there are less so. It is akin to people formerly living behind the Iron Curtain. Very conservative as a group. Arguably, life in California and the like is worse than it was behind the Iron Curtain. They have seen the light.

T just beat me to it, , , , , was just talking with an old buddy who actually studied such things at school. He said that there were a couple things to consider: 1) The Supremes just shook off a complaint about Trump's plan to exclude "non-citizens" from the census. 2) The upcoming "reapportionment" could be pretty "harsh" for a few Blue States. 3) The upcoming 2022 elections will be a nail biters.

The Courts will decide it later after Trump says which people he specifically wants to exclude.

Biden will orchestrate the end of the pandemic and the economy will spring forth like herd of gazelles. Five million jobs will be added within a year.

Trump's scheme to short the count is so disorganized the SCOTUS didn't even bother to look at it, not to mention that the count won't even be complete due to irregularities till Trump is gone.

There will be no Red wave. Why would there be?

CA is too big, too rich to be governable as a state.
Holds too much of Americas strength, generates too much of Americas intellectual wealth to let it go as a separate nation.
It should become 3 states, That would also help restore a little vote-power fairness too.

If the U.S. is governable, Ca. can be as well. The problem is how it is being governed. If the people and companies that are voting with the feet are any indication, it is not being governed well. That said, it might be a good idea to split it. But doubt that is going to happen.
