3 Trump associates, including a Marvel exec, tried to get the Department of Veterans Affairs to sell vets' medical records for profit

Three associates of former President Donald Trump worked to persuade the Department of Veterans Affairs to sell veterans medical records for profit,
according to emails released Monday by US lawmakers.

The team, who were based at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, was comprised of Ike Perlmutter, a major Trump donor, Mar-a-Lago member, and a Marvel executive; Marc Sherman, a Washington, DC, lawyer; and Dr. Bruce Moskowitz, a West Palm Beach physician, per ProPublica.

A less astute person than myself, could reasonably conclude that you guys have a very unhealthy Trump obsession. I, on the other hand, realize that you guys are mindless and are merely doing what you are told to do. No thinking or obsessing required. Why are you being told to trash Trump? Your puppet masters are getting very worried about Trump becoming president again in light of Dementia Joe's disasterous time in office. Regarding the article, so what? Nothing bad or evil going on, simply exploring ways to make the VA better.

If someone purposely took a bulldozer to my house, and walked away like they didn't do anything wrong, then yeah, I might have an unhealthy obsession about it.

But pigblo is that person walking by that same house yelling, "You shouldn't have put your house there!"

Never mind trump, a bunch of you people on here are flag waving veterans, so if true, how do you feel about these jackals trying to get the VA to sell your medical records?

"Patient data is, in my opinion, the most valuable assets the VA has," Terry Fadem, a consultant who ran a private nonprofit created by Moskowitz, said in a June 2017 email released Monday by the House Oversight Committee and the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

"It can be leveraged into hundreds of millions in revenue."

Moskowitz then told David Shulkin, then-secretary of the VA, that talks had taken place with Johnson & Johnson, CVS, and Apple about a potential deal.
Capitalists are scumbags.

What is scummy about that? Not only could that financially help the VA, which would help the veterans, but could help humanity as a whole. More to the point, it was just and idea. Nothing wrong with thinking about something. There are no thought crimes yet.

When you say "tried to", you mean like it didn't happen? So your big story of the day is about something from years ago that didn't end up happening? Cool story, bro.

It is not a crime to think about doing something. Nothing in that article suggested that it is a crime to sell the information, for that matter.

Exactly. The media is continuing the onslaught of Trumpisms, even though he's no longer in power, because they need keep feeding the sheep to keep their TDS fully pegged. This way, just like they did in California, they can piggy back on the TDS to tie a candidate to Trump, and continue to be voted into power. It really is classic mind manipulating propaganda, tugging on the emotions and playing the shell game. At this point, with everything going on, you're either on to it or being manipulated by it....

It's just one more reason as to why Trump should never be trusted again.

Hey Opie, show me one legitimate Republican candidate who isn't backing Trump, just one.

Classic example of a brainwashed mind. Notice the use of "backing Trump," like Trump is still in power, or running for some sort of office. Proves my point how manipulated some of you are. Cole, what exactly are candidates "backing Trump" on/for?

Has one spoken out against him? If so, name him or her.

And the power lies in his followers, how do you not see that? Trump's hoard can make or break the next Republican candidate. Yes, Trump isn't in office, but he is very much still pulling the strings.

If T'rump and his turds would have had their way, the Veterans Administration would have been sold off and privatized long ago.

Historically, Veterans have been shat upon following their service and when profits came be made first, Veterans come last.

It is not without irony that one of the many sins of T'rumpworld was the use of Veterans as a fundraising scheme where the vets received zero.

And Trump used the money for his personal use. Not to mention his other "charity" he used to pay fines and to buy a painting of himself.

Yes. He created a veteran's "Charity" that raised $2.8 million, and the Trump Org used the money for his own campaign.

I won't ever forget this, but it is obvious that his supporters want this to just "go away."

Yes, feed the hatred. Good thing you don't have to worry about voting for him for anything, because he's not running for anything. I do admire the moral high ground you're taking though, just curious if you also apply that to the other side of the isle...

So let me get this straight, your are saying that there is zero opposition to Trump in the Republican party, he is still very much "pulling the strings", and its his followers that you should be wary of. So lets see here.....demonize the opposition..check.....maintain the illusion that Trump is still in power and create fear....check....use this combination to maintain support for the neoliberals....check. But you still don't see you're being manipulated by the liberal-media propaganda machine, by the very same tactics used by Hitler and Mussolini??? At this point its either willful ignorance or full on brain washing....

All you really need to do is refer to the treatment that Liz Cheney (R) is getting from her own party.

Aren't these the same people who though that asking their vaccine status was a HIPAA "violation"?

They would have scrubbed personal identifiers. So HIPPA would have no application.

You do realize this was trump's "best people" floating these ideas. Monetizing the private medical information without the veterans consent was the idea. You get that this was a grift at a very high level by people trump appointed to safeguard veterans and protect their interests. This is a valid criticism and it's timely since these grifters have only now been exposed. Let me just say that you are going to be so mad when someone is able to explain it to you.

Hatred? Moral high ground? How about just calling them your blind spots?

Here is the deal. Trump is a douche bag, I NEVER liked him as a person and have always thought of him as a typical egotistical douche bag from New York. However, its quite obvious he was (and apparently still is) a threat to the "establishment." You know, the very establishment I thought you liberals were against? (but now somehow parrot/support...but I digress). ALONG with all that I mentioned, he is also an outsider, and truly set out to put America first (that you guys somehow were brainwashed into equating that notion as "fascism"). I will go on to say that even that intent isn't coming from a "pure" place, but driven by his ego. ALL POLITICIANS are egotistical scumbags that can't produce on their own. So, no, I am not blind to Trump's BS. I'm also not blinded by TDS to see how well were doing as country under his administration in terms of the economy, National Security, and the lower class. There are objective numbers out there to prove this. Nor was/am I blind by the tactics employed by the democrats to maintain power. So the question really is this, johnnyboy, you think only Trump or the Rs do this shit? Whats more important to you, your pocket/well being of your family or "the perception" of having a nice guy in the office. Remember, you are calling me blind yet you supported a 40yr + career politician that is a major player in everything you're supposedly against........solely because he's not Trump.
