Afternoon sun allows for low ISO (the sensor is collecting highest quality data), high shutter speed (like 1/400 sec) and plenty of depth of field (f/7.1). It's amazing how fast things go downhill with clouds.
The Olympus camera has a small 20 megapixel sensor, which most photographers don't like, but the upside is compact lenses, easy to use hand-held, great image stabilization. I was using a continuous auto focus mode that's supposed to follow moving objects. Seems it was. Only a few mushy images. The camera body was intended for "action" and bird photos (it was a huge Black Friday deal).
I haven't played with "pro capture" yet. It starts catching images when you half-press the button, keeping them briefly, then when you push the button all the way, it saves the latest ones, so you get a series of images starting a bit before that final push. For catching surfers, it might save on the total number of images you need to collect.

Some more added. The most-viewed so far is a stray from Vero South Beach that looks like cream for strawberries.
