Meanwhile, a California expert writing for the Washington Post points out that California had far worse flooding in 1861, and that changes in California river and water management might help reduce damage. Slater at Seal Beach:

Slater was quite a big deal. I had the dumb luck to see him perform at our own Riomar, hurricane Sandy with extraordinary barrels. That prompted me to get a decent camera later on. On the side, Mike Purpus has been hospitalized with severe heart disease.

More Seal Beach on the 11th. Excellent work with the camera.

I surfed there decades ago and don't recall it trying to kill me. I didn't see any seals either.

Full video of the inflatable ride at Seal Beach. To judge from another of WesleyKong's videos, his drone can go 33 mph and it was having trouble keeping up. Along with Brent Weldon (frequent Wedge videographer, in and out of the water), there's Tim Burnham (enthusiastic bodysurfer and two movies, Dirty Old Wedge and Part of Water, on Ben Carlson)
