So near St. Marks, Someone made a mark and summed it up nicely "The signs placed on the lines of the road lanes on A1A at all the pedestrian cross walks are very Unsafe. Vehicles are hitting them all the time, every day, causing them and other vehicles to swerve. Trucks, SCAT buses, lawn service & boat trailers can 'barely' fit thru them. They've been up less than a week and you can see how beat up they are already. PLEASE remove them ASAP before there is a major crash. Also, the yellow lights should be changed to red. Cars are not always stopping or try to rush thru. Red will make them stop."....I think in reality these comments go into the Dead Letter bucket , but who knows?....I can say that TWO PEDESTRIANS HAVE BEEN KILLED AT THIS LOCATION IN THE LAST FEW YEARS.....sad if they do nothing
The comments are part of Public Record and will be used by SCTPO to make further or modify transportation infrastructure improvements. The more the public comments the better. The new SCTPO leadership is interested in making Brevard transportation systems safer for all roadway users. Thus, the adoption of
VISION ZERO going forward.
